Senior Permits

Wallingford seniors (65 years and older) and residents under 65 years of age who have been issued a Medicare card may purchase a $5 permit and receive a coupon book.

TO GET A PERMIT AND COUPON BOOK: Coupon Books can be purchased at the Resident Disposal Center. The price of the $5 permit will not be prorated or refunded. To apply for this program, an eligible resident should bring:

- CT Driver’s License or CT Identification Card (available at DMV) with a Wallingford address
- a valid Medicare card (if applicable)
- AND vehicle registration* showing a Wallingford address for the vehicle that will be used to deliver trash to the disposal site. *A permit will not be issued for a commercial vehicle.

BRUSH PICKUP INFORMATION

Residents of Wallingford will have their brush only picked up by the Public Works Department, starting Monday April 6, 2026. All brush to be picked up should be placed at the curb, no later than Sunday, April 5, 2026, tied with twine, separately, in small bundles.

No brush more than 4 feet long or 6 inches in diameter will be accepted.

Branches or brush not tied will NOT be picked up.

Items placed at curb must be light enough for one person to put in a truck.

This is a one-time-only pickup, in all sections of Wallingford. The Department of Public Works will not go back to any street that has already been picked up. Those residents who miss the pickup may take their brush to the Compost Center on John Street at no charge.

2026 Neighborhood Assistance Act Program

The Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) Tax Credit Program is a State program administered by the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) that is designed to provide funding for municipal and tax-exempt organizations by providing a corporation business tax credit for businesses who make cash contributions to these entities.

The DRS has opened up the 2026 NAA Program for proposals and tax exempt entities and municipal agencies desiring to obtain benefits under the NAA Program must complete Form NAA-01, Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act Program Proposal, Parts I, II, and III and submit the form to the Town of Wallingford by May 22, 2026. PROCLAMATION: Wallingford Elks Lodge #1365 "Irish Person of the Year" Award

Kevin Saunders has been a dedicated member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks for more than twelve years, serving on the House Committee, chairing Public Safety Night and supporting Elks Lodges nationwide.

We are pleased that the Wallingford Elks Lodge #1365 is honoring Kevin Saunders as the recipient of the "Irish Person of the Year" Award. We thank him for his contributions to our community and wish him the best in all the years ahead!

PROCLAMATION: William W. Dickinson, Jr. Day

Dickinson's lifelong interest in government, lawmaking, and fiscal responsibility led him to serve as fourth Mayor of the Town of Wallingford from 1984-2024. What began as a short-term commitment became an extraordinary 40-year tenure, during which Mayor Dickinson served 20 consecutive terms and guided Wallingford through decades of growth and prosperity,

Mayor Cervoni has proclaimed February 21, 2026 as William W. Dickinson, Jr. Day in our community. We extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to William W. Dickinson, Jr., for his remarkable service and steadfast devotion to the citizens of Wallingford. We wish him health, happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead!

Damaged Mailbox Claims

If your mailbox was damaged by a Wallingford Snowplow, contact Public Works at 203-294-2105. Public Works will install a new mailbox.

If your mailbox was damaged by a Wallingford Snowplow and you have replaced your mailbox yourself, send an email to request reimbursement up to $55.00, including a receipt for the new mailbox to: [email protected].

If you are seeking reimbursement of more than $55.00 or a specialty mailbox, you will need to submit a claim directly to the Town Clerk’s office, in writing, with all pertinent information (name, address, date of loss, value of replacement box, etc). Town Clerk will assign a claim number and will forward to the appropriate departments.
