- Unwanted electronics may be brought FREE OF CHARGE to the Wallingford Resident Disposal Center
Electronics recycling is for Wallingford Residents only. Proof of residency is required. - Accepted materials include, but are not limited to: Computers, Laptops, Printers, Fax Machines, Monitors, Scanners, Copiers, TVs, Cell Phones, Cameras, Tablets, Video Games, Game Consoles, VCR/DVD Machines, Remotes, Keyboards, Computer Mice, Modems, Small Appliances (such as microwaves), and Stereo Equipment.
- Appliances containing Freon, i.e. air conditioners, refrigerators and dehumidifiers may be dropped off at Resident Disposal for a fee of $25.
- Unaccepted materials include: smoke detectors, ballasts, propane tanks, paint, household, and hazardous waste.
Other ways to recycle electronics:
- Goodwill – each Goodwill store in the area participates in the “Reconnect Partnership” recycling program with Dell. Computers and computer equipment of any make and in any condition will be accepted at Goodwill stores at no charge.
- Best Buy – all stores will accept any make of computer and TVs (up to 32 inches for tube screen and up to 60 inches for flat panel screen) for recycling. Best Buy now accepts these items free of charge.
- Central CT Recycling and Transfer – located at 22 Burton Dr., Cheshire, will accept household electronics and TV’s at no charge on Saturdays, 8am-1pm. Call 203-272-4039 for more info.
- Take 2 Inc. is a Waterbury based electronics recycler. Take 2 is approved by the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection as a Covered Electronics Recycler in conjunction with CT Electronics Recycling Law, RCSA 22a-638-1. See www.take2recycle.com for more details.
