With the Governors announcement of extreme heat protocols in place August 11 through August 14, please know the Wallingford Family YMCA will be available to the community residents, at no cost, to all who need to take shelter from the heat. Guests may utilize the YMCA facilities just like any other member, showing proper identification and completing a guest form, during the following days and hours:
Monday, August 11, 2025 - Thursday, August 14, 2025
· 81 South Elm Street facility - No Access due to Summer Camp capacity
· 8 North Turnpike Road facility - 5:00am - 8:00pm
Additionally, cooling centers will be open throughout the state and can be located by visiting 211ct.org or Calling 211.
