Department Responsibilities

The Wallingford Department of Youth and Social Services provides programs, activities and services that promote both a positive, healthy community and develop healthy, capable young people and families. We also provide services to families and individuals in need during times of crisis.

Current Volunteer Opportunities in the Communit

Wallingford Public Library (200 North Main St. WallingfordCT)

  • The library offers both ongoing and as-needed volunteer opportunities in areas such as the Children’s Department, the Collaboratory, marketing, event programming, and more. (Ages 13- 18)

CT STEM Academy and Quinnipiac University

  • The 3rd VEX IQ Competition on January 10th, 2026 at Quinnipiac University. 
  • Volunteers are needed on January 9th, 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM and January 10th, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Time slots are available, and lunch will be provided.

    • Bereavement Group (First Monday each month, 7-8p on Zoom)
